Photos from New York City

What a day we had yesterday...from the peace and quiet of the Central Plateau one day to the hectic pace of New York City the next.  We ended the day giving thanks to God for all his mercies to us in Christ Jesus!  More reflections will be posted today by some of the team members.

Up from the subway...our first glimpse of the city.

Times Square!

Where the ball drops on New Year's Eve.
Then we went to the studio for the Today Show.

Rockefeller Center.

Our students were chosen to be on a taped interview with Hoda and Kathy Lee, so we
waited over an hour.  They cut the program short at the last minute and we weren't interviewed.

Pastor Hausler and Marty Huizinga were standing behind Kathy Lee and Hoda during the taping of
their Friday show.  You can see them out the window today between 10-11 AM.

Trump Tower.

A walk through Central Park.

Climbing the rocks in Central Park...we asked permission.

Everyone is still pretty energetic in the early afternoon.

In Grand Central Station - time for a team picture.

The Statue of Liberty from Battery Park.

The Empire State Building.

The new memorial park under construction at Ground Zero.

Ground Zero Memorial fountain.

Annie and Abbie Ferguson at the Survival Tree.  Removed from the rubble and
nursed back to health.

Dinner at Big Wong's Chinese Restaurant in Chinatown.

Hanging Ducks at the door of Big Wong's.
Public transportation for the ride home...everyone is bushed.

And falling asleep...

...even sleeping standing up.

Marty and Mark plotting our return home...a subway,
a train, a bus and a shuttle to get to the hotel.  We finally arrived
at the hotel around 9:30 PM where we had a team meeting before bed.

  1. WOW What a day! You did in one day what other people do in a week! I especially love the pic of the guys sleeping while standing. :) Can't wait to have you all home.
