Reflections from Mark Paauw

Bonswa!

in the market for the family of Derold, our HAFF host.
Today I have decided to bless the blogosphere with my long-awaited presence.  This morning we had the opportunity to visit a school a few miles up the road.  We sang songs for the children and they songs back to us, and we also gave them our testimonies of our favorite Bible characters  Our girls then taught the younger students children’s songs while others of us played soccer and Frisbee.   It was truly a blessing to spend time in fellowship with the children.

We then visited the village market.  It looked like something out of a movie! There were people and animals crowded everywhere in the market area. Things from produce, to clothing, to hygiene items were being sold.  Words don’t really do justice to the chaos and atmosphere of the market.  Our plans for the later afternoon include touring the village and a conversational English session with some high school students.

This trip has truly been a blessing for me.  It has changed the way I view life and God’s purposes for me.  I am thankful for the time here and the health that we have been blessed with.

From Haiti, Mark Paauw
