Hey everyone! Abbie
here…
So, for the past few days, I’ve been teaching other team
members how to make friendship bracelets.
We decided to make a bunch for the kids at church. Together we made about 20 bracelets.
After church, Kiera and I took the bracelets to pass them
out. When we tied them around kids’
wrists, their faces really lit up! Each
boy and girl was so happy.
I’ve been very surprised how happy the kids here are. They’re all smiley and curious. They LOVE to have their picture taken too! J They’re just normal kids - the only
difference is the language.
I miss you all so much!
Thank you for your prayers!

Hi from Haiti!
Today we visited a church about 20 minutes away. It was a very bumpy road for the truck. There was lots of singing and memorizing
Scripture in Creole during the Sunday School time. The translation process was
a bit tricky, but it was a really good message (preached by Pastor Hausler) for
both our team and the Haitians. I really
enjoyed the signing by a group of women and a group of men. The language barrier didn’t stop us from
hearing the joy in their songs, prayers, and “Amens!”
After the service there was a child dedication. All the kids were dazzled up with bows,
ribbons, ruffly socks and nice shoes. It
was so different from an American service, but we appreciated their joy in the
Lord.
See you all soon,
Lydia (Lee-dee-yah: Creole translation)

Today is Sunday, January 6. This morning we made breakfast because the cooks had the day off. We had cereal and sweet rolls. Then we got into the truck and went to church, which was really cool, and talked with the people there for a little bit. Then we cam back and had SPAM!! with mac n’ chees and bread. Then we wen on house visits which are so AWESOME and met the coolest little boy. It has been a great day. Thanks for all your prayers.

P.S. Mom…we watched a purple rabbit get eaten by a grabboy.

Hi Abbie! We are praying for you in California. It is neat to be able to see pictures and read your posts while you are there. Praise God for giving you the strength and courage to assimilate into a new group and reach out to the Haitians in the unity of Christ's love. It looks and sounds like you are all having a wonderful time. May God continue to bless your time there as he opens the eyes of the hearts of the Haitians.
