Hello from Haiti!
We had a full afternoon of ministry and learning here at HAFF in Haiti. We started with a time to share our favorite promises from the Bible with some of the students from the secondary school. They then joined us at a soccer field down the road where we met our match! The afternoon ended with a time at the gazebo to hear from the community leaders who serve on the HAFF Executive Committee about their work overseeing the mission.
After dinner we watched a wonderful Hallmark movie on the dorm porch about a Georgia teacher with tourettes syndrom called "Front of the Class." (If you have never seen it - I highly recommend it, even the teenagers were impressed...and don't tell anyone, but a few of them even cried!) What a great way to end a great day.
We played with mixed teams, bringing brand new soccer balls from the states.
Mark is showing his athletic skills, but the Haitians are pretty fast!
I don't think Nathan ever played soccer with a woman doing laundry on the side-lines, hanging her clothes to dry on a cactus fence!
Soccer is a cross-cultural language!
Arielle and Abbie in the back of our truck - feeling like trapped animals?
The courtyard of the HAFF secondary school.
The boys on our team thought this kid had a lot of "swag"!
